Hawk's Nest

Acollection of newspaper articles about the Hawk’s Nest road in Deerpark beginning in the mid 1800s.

The articles tell the story from the time it was used as a single lane dirt road until it was dedicated as the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway in 2002. Historic pictures are used to illustrate the changes which took place over the years.

The Hawk’s Nest is the most photographed section of the Byway and has been seen in national TV commercials and on the covers of travel magazines. Thousands of visitors stop to enjoy the scenic view throughout the year because each season exhibits its own individual character and beauty.
